In Albertslund, Denmark, the city in which I currently live, low and dense housing units complete with pedestrian walkways and courtyard gardens (as well as a conveniently located shopping center) were built around the S-Tog train station to provide plentiful housing for the working class - the idea was to provide “city living” in the suburbs. This development, Alberstlund Syd, was so uninspiring, monotonous, and impersonal that the buildings had to be color-coded so that children could find their own homes on their way back from school.

i’ve been trying to solve an enigma for the last three and a half months: why are the danes all so stylish? perhaps it’s something in the water. i’d like to learn their ways, pronto.

i’m really wanting to lie in bed and watch pierrot le fou right now. instead, i’m trying to prepare for my trip to amsterdam and also failing at doing research for the paper i have due on monday. oops.
